A wonderful free Park just off 270 before the Chain of Rocks Bridge. There are no restrooms and no overnight parking but it is worth the stop to walk out on the historic route 66 Bridge and see St Louis off in the distance.

I am absolutely impressed at how nice this new park is. Cameras everywhere, gate, security, landscaping and bathrooms are all a nice touch. Left the Jeep in the parking lot with the doors off and rode the beautiful riverfront trail. This was literally a dangerous, barren parking lot that I never would have parked my car at in the past. No worries now whatsoever!

It's nice to see the park being completed and even better that we now have access to the bridge from the Missouri side! I was disappointed, though, to see a missed opportunity to re-create the old Route 66 toll booth. But I understand how costly it would be.

Nice new park. A great experience to walk across the mighty Mississippi river. It takes about 20 minutes to walk one way from end to end nonstop. Security opened the bridge gates at 8am, so beware the park does have hours.

Not a bad destination to kill an afternoon. Secure parking and I one of a kind hike across a piece of history. Not many resting spots (2 benches fairly early on from the Missouri side) on the bridge itself, but the Missouri side had a nice covered covered pavilion with picnic tables and there were a few benches as well as a couple porta potties(shaded). The park is dog friendly, but there's not all that much area for them to roam, this is mainly bridge walking. The garbage receptacles are only on land. So if your dog poops on the bridge you're going to be carrying it for awhile. Great one of a kind views of the Mississippi river plus 2 free telescopes mid bridge for arch gazing and views of downtown from a distance. Also some scenic wooded spots on the Illinois side, teaming with wildlife. It's a longer walk than it looks, but not a difficult one by any means. Definitely will be returning.
