Fun Factory at Kahala Mall, featured in the Theme Park Directory category, has received significant criticism regarding its gaming practices, customer service, and overall transparency. Customer reviews highlight concerns about the nature of the games, card security, and misleading promotions.

Customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the prevalence of "gambling games" like claw machines and other "games of chance," particularly when placed next to toddler games and rides. There are concerns about the ethical implications of these games and the lack of clear disclosure regarding the odds of winning.

Issues with card security have also been reported, with one customer stating that their card was found and used by another person. The staff's handling of this situation was deemed unsatisfactory, with prolonged delays and an eventual refusal to return any credits or points.

Multiple customers have reported being "scammed" out of money, with difficulties in contacting management and resolving issues. The staff is described as unhelpful, often directing customers to call "the boss," who is unreachable.

The "gold card" promotion, which promises 50% off games on Tuesdays, has also been criticized. Customers have reported being charged full price despite purchasing the card, due to a "secret" check-in requirement that was not clearly communicated. This is seen as "false advertising" and a "scam."

Customers have generally recommended avoiding Fun Factory, particularly for tourists, and opting for alternative arcades like Dave & Busters, which are perceived as offering better value and transparency.

Entrance and store is full of mainly gambling games like claw machines and other games of chance, when I was a kid it was a real arcade. The gambling games are placed right next to toddler games and rides with stuffed animals as prizes. This Arcade operators could adopt more ethical practices, ensuring machines are reasonably winnable and clearly disclosing the odds of winning. My daughter likes their kiddie games but someone found our card on the ground and spent all our money and tickets, since they didn't bother IDing for redemption. We explained what happened, then got strung along by the staff for a month about their loss protection only to be refused to return any credits or points.

Scammed us out of a lot of money. Teenaged staff just say call “the boss” on a number that goes straight to voicemail. “The boss” never got back to us. Beware. There are better arcades on island - this is actually the worst. Spent over $500 for their gold card to get half-price games on Tuesdays. “Ok great,” we thought. We were going there weekly. Then I check my balance and find that we were paying full price for everything since we’d got the card. Why? Because we have to secretly check in to get the 50% off! Since when? Where is that written? No signs. No one told us when we SPENT $500 TO GET THE 50% off AND they didn’t even check us in on that day. The kid knew we were there for the 50% off!! That’s why we feel it’s a scam. In truth, it’s false advertising. We saw a sign that advertised 50% off games, then asked to buy it. We never received it. For those that don’t live on island, go somewhere else. This is a low-end arcade with full-price games that match the price of Dave & Busters. Why wouldn’t you just go there?

We spent a small fortune and didn’t win but our son had a great time and loves all the prizes he got to pick out

The staff are all so helpful & courteous. My 92 year old mother enjoys playing the Willy Wonka machine & now found a new game that she loves collecting these key chain/charms. Thank you Fun Factory!
