Another suggested improvement was the size of their paper plates for parties, which were deemed extremely small and insufficient for a slice of pizza.

We had a birthday party booking for a tween/11th birthday at Gnome and Raven. We chose the Tomb Ruins for a party of 11 members(including the chaperone/s). Chose the Beginner level (they do have a Pre-beginner level for age 10 and below, we chose Beginner for our tWeen group), which was challenging enough and just right for our gang of 5th graders. They had to dance around for hints a few times, and finished with just 2 minutes to spare. The escape room was of high quality with lots of space. The host was polite and fun. It was a great experience for the kids. I have already given my feedback to Gnome and Raven regarding the short comings of their online booking page (specifically on the lack of differentiation between birthday party and regular booking which led to confusion/error on our part during our initial booking, which we luckily, coincidentally caught and upgraded before our party date). The only other improvement I can suggest is on the size of their paper plates - extremely small, insufficient to hold a slice of pizza!

Probably one of the most well put together escape rooms I've done. The effects were entertaining and the clues made logical sense. The attendants also played along with the theme of the rooms. We will definitely come back!

We took my son here for his 10th birthday with 10 of his 4th grade buddies and had a GREAT time with the ancient ruins room. Many of the kids (and me too) had never done an escape room and we were all raving about it at the end. The staff did a great job hosting us and setting up for the pizza and cake at the end and giving us helpful (but not too many) tips when we got stuck. We left planning to come back with our family of 5, dreaming about doing double dates with friends or bringing extended family. Just a great experience!

I'm so sad. We live in Virginia beach and my husband and some friends did the magic lamp room. It was amazing several months ago. For Christmas I bought a gift certificate for my sister. I paid for 4 people. My sister was charged $10 for "tax". I wasn't offered the option to pay that or told she would be charged it. Totally cheapened my gift to her. Then, she got there (after driving 2 hours) and 3 people had to use the bathroom. The game master was sarcastic and rude and made a comment about them "finally being ready". The bathroom is only a single stall and 3 people had to use it. Then, during the room, the game master was named Santiago and he was rude. Also, during their game other rooms were extremely loud. We realize other games happen at the same time, but it did cause confusion all the rooms hearing each other. I'm so sad they had such a terrible expierence. It's such an amazing room, worth the 2 hour drive, but not if they are going to employ rude, sarcastic staff. My sister and her friends did enjoy the room itself, but don't feel the drive is worth it for the experience with staff.

My family has done dozens of escape rooms all over the nation- this is one of the best. Great atmosphere and challenging rooms- not overly linear. Staff is great as well. We've done Magic Lamp and Wizard's Castle- worth the hour drive.
