Black Hills Escape Rooms

Visited from out of town and what a great experience! Been to 30+ escape rooms around the county, and this was one of the best organized and engaging rooms we've done. Highly recommend.

We did the Haunted room. We had fun and escaped with 10 minutes to spare. Felt like the staff could have been more involved. Their was a photo area set up which they didn't tell us about but we knew about from our visit here a few years back.

We did the zombie prairie dog room as a family of 5 (kids were 9, 10, 12). We love doing escape rooms when we go on vacations and were excited to do this one. Overall, it was a fun experience. Some of the items were really worn or broken but we solved it with no clues with 21 minutes left. We were soooo excited when we came out but then it quickly became anticlimatic because the staff acted as if nothing happened. They didn't ask to take our picture or record our time on a board or anything. They only asked if we had fun (very briefly before going back to their screens) and that was it. We even stood there awkwardly for a moment before we left going .. that was it? If we came through here again I would probably pass on this place.

We did the haunted B&B, it was a fun room. The rooms are actually 2 hours to get out. One hour out is for the experts and anything longer is really helpful for family friendly groups or for introducing your kids to an escape room for the first time. The extra time allows the kids to feel comfortable with puzzles you find in escape rooms often. There were tons of unique features I haven't seen before in other escape rooms. Only downfall is the rooms were really warm, so maybe adding a fan in the rooms would be helpful.

Me and my friend group of four other teenage girls loved this! We chose the haunted escape room and were jump scared multiple times, once by the actual room and a bunch by the staff knocking on the doors just to mess with us, it was hilarious. Some of my friends would even get scared by a staff member walking in to give us a hint after WE called for it, they were pretty jumpy at that point lol. The clues weren’t too difficult, and we only needed a couple hints, especially for being complete newbies. The hints the staff gave were pretty helpful and self explanatory, but not too revealing, they definitely pointed us in the right direction which kept us going. The only complaints I would have is that we booked a room a week in advance but they couldn’t find it, luckily we still got into that same room. Also if we were going for time, I would be a bit upset that the Alexa we were supposed to ask a question to didn’t work. We eventually asked for a hint to which the staff politely fixed it for us, however this did cost us about ten minutes of trying to figure out what to do. Overall my friend group had a ton of fun and definitely has some new inside jokes we will reference. They had nice staff and I would definitely recommend to any teens who want to have a fun time.
