I strolled through The Green on my way to the Mint Museum. I found its book/author theme enchanting and clever.

Attended the SHOUT Charlotte Festival on The Green with family. It was so much fun. Art, entertainment, and food trucks. (The photos are primarily from the festival I attended. ) The Green is lovely. Lots of places to sit or bring a blanket and relax on the lawn. You can even bring your dog. There is street parking with pay meters, as well as an indoor garage next door. It is $3 for the first half an hour and then $3 for every 20 minutes after that. There are lots of restaurants nearby. It's a nice place to go with family when you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Nice little park right in the city center. I like the idea with the wooden signs

Someone had a great vision to create a green space in Uptown. I enjoy everything about it & especially the references to books and authors. I looked around at other people and could see them really enjoying the park. By the way, there is a public restroom in the building just beyond the “colorful directional signs.” The next time you are in the area, you have got to check out The Green. Perhaps even pick up lunch and have it outside and stay a while.

Quirky literature-themed park in downtown Charlotte. Loved the Charlotte signpost designating the Charlotte, N.C. as the center of the known world. The park also has a variety of other signposts calling out great authors such as Edgar Allen Poe, James Joyce, etc. There are cool statues including two bronze towers of famous novels and an-open faced book with a unique message (see video).
