Kennywood, featured in the Theme Park Directory category, is a large amusement park offering a variety of rides and activities. Customer reviews present a mixed picture, with positive feedback on the park's fun atmosphere and negative feedback on security procedures.

Many families and groups of friends report having a "great time" and enjoying the park's attractions. The park is praised for its "free parking" and "good food prices," making it a relatively affordable option for a day out.

The park's size is noted, with some customers stating that "one day wasn't enough" to experience all the rides and attractions. This suggests a wide range of activities and entertainment options.

However, significant concerns have been raised about the park's automated security procedures. One customer, a single father with two autistic children, reported being separated from his children due to the automated system. He expressed disappointment and frustration with the lack of human intervention and the perceived inflexibility of the security measures.

This customer stated he would "never come back" and felt that Kennywood had become a "waste of hard earned money," indicating a severe negative impact on his experience.

This negative security experience contrasts with a customer's positive experience with the fall phantom fest security, which was described as more relaxed. This indicates potential inconsistencies in security procedures.

Letting your automated security choose to separate me as a single dad from my two autistic children was totally lame. I had no bags, No metal. The humans had no say but to do what the robot compiter tells them? I will never come back here. Being a family season pass holder, I am so disappointed. I see now what what everyone says is true about Kennywood. It is a waste of hard earned money, and no one cares anymore. My last memory of Kennywood will be this at Christmas time. There was less and more relaxed security at the fall phantom fest this year than there was tonight.

Always a great time. Wasn't too crowded and we started some new traditions!!! I've been coming to Kennywood now for 50 years. I can remember using ride tickets. We always brought a picnic lunch and stayed the entire day. It was great to bring my kids to the park as they grew up as well. We had plenty of traditions and now that they are adults, we have started some new ones.

Born and raised in PGH. I have been to Kennywood many of times throughout the years. I have to say that I was terribly disappointed with my most recent visit during Phantom Fright. The park is nothing like it used to be. It is very overpriced for the quality that is received. 95 minute waits to get on rides. Hour waits for haunted houses. My family spent over $200 with Groupon discount tickets. Unfortunately, the park was so over crowded that we only rode just one ride. We only got to experience 3 haunted attractions. That is pathetic! They now offer you to pay more money to buy a fast pass that allows you to skip the longer lines. This is on top of what they charge you to enter the park. Sadly, the employees appeared to be truly miserable. They were unfriendly and visibly uninterested. KW used to be a loved family park full of traditions...a true staple in the Burgh. But, you can tell that it jumped on the bandwagon of trying to keep up with other thrill parks. While doing this...it lost its nostalgia of the pure authentic fun that it used to be! The templated response to guest reviews shows how KW doesn't value its guests. I will reach out as they suggest and I will give an update in the near future.

Kennywood Park, nestled just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is more than just an amusement park; it's an active piece of American history. Since its inception in 1898 as a trolley park attraction, Kennywood has evolved into a thrilling mecca of rides, games, and entertainment, while preserving much of its nostalgic charm. The park's rich history is evident in its iconic wooden roller coasters, such as Jack Rabbit and Thunderbolt and Racer, which have been thrilling generations of riders. These classic coasters stand as testaments to the park's enduring appeal and commitment to preserving its heritage. Kennywood hasn't rested on its laurels, though. The park has successfully blended its storied past with modern thrills, introducing modern standout coasters like Phantom's Revenge and Sky Rocket and Black Widow. This perfect balance of old-school charm and adrenaline-pumping new attractions ensures something for everyone. Beyond its thrilling rides, Kennywood offers a diverse range of activities to cater to all ages and interests. Families can enjoy classic carousels, gentle boat rides, and kid-friendly attractions. For those seeking a more adrenaline-fueled experience, there's a plethora of heart-pounding coasters, drop towers, and water rides. And for those who prefer a more leisurely pace, the park boasts beautiful green spaces, live entertainment, and delicious food options. Kennywood's attention to detail creates a welcoming atmosphere that transports visitors back in time while offering modern-day thrills. Whether you're a thrill-seeker, a history buff, or simply looking for a fun day out, Kennywood Park is a must-visit destination.
