Red Wing Water Park, featured in the Theme Park Directory category, offers a water park experience aimed at families with young children. However, customer reviews present a mixed picture, particularly concerning staff behavior and safety protocols.
The park is noted for its shallow pool, which is considered suitable for young children and helps prevent accidents. The presence of "7 or 8 lifeguards" is also mentioned as a positive aspect, contributing to the perceived safety of the facility.
However, customer reviews frequently criticize the teenage staff. The staff is described as "not friendly" and, in some cases, "very rude." This issue is highlighted as a significant concern, although customers are advised not to let it completely deter them from visiting.
Safety checks, which occur for "15 minutes every hour," have also been criticized. Customers claim that lifeguards do not actively check the pool area during these periods, instead "grouping up and talking" or "floating." This raises concerns about the effectiveness of these safety measures.
Lifeguards are also described as being overly strict, "blowing their whistles every two seconds for anything and everything," creating an unpleasant and restrictive atmosphere. Customers have likened the experience to being in "a prison than a pool."
Accessibility issues have also been raised. One customer reported a discriminatory experience when their disabled son was denied access to small water slides, despite fitting on them. They noted a lack of posted rules regarding height or weight limits and observed inconsistencies in enforcement.
Overall, while the shallow pool and presence of lifeguards are positive aspects, the negative reviews regarding staff behavior, inconsistent safety checks, and potential accessibility issues should be considered before visiting Red Wing Water Park.

The Red Wing Water Park is a great place to bring your young kids. Most of the pool is shallow enough to prevent most types of accidents. Coupled with the 7 or 8 lifeguards they have on duty, make this place as safe as can be. My one complaint is in regards to the staff. As should be expected, the majority of the staff are teenagers. For the most part they are not friendly and in a few cases have been very rude. This is nothing that should prevent anyone from going here, only make sure you set your expectations appropriately.

First time and last time here. It was so awful. The teenage staff and lifeguards are So rude with the worst attitudes. The "safety checks" for 15 minutes every hour are a joke. None of the lifeguards are checking anything, they all just group up and talk to each other and float. I didn't see one lifeguard actually walk the pool area or check anything. The lifeguards were blowing their whistles every two seconds for anything and everything. It felt more like a prison than a pool. Good Lord, any kid that even made a splash was whistled at. I went with my son who is Ten and it was his birthday. He is disabled so he can't go on the big water slides. I told him he could go down the little water slides, he definitely fit on them no problem. A lifeguard told us he can't go down because he is too big. They said he wasn't allowed on that part of the water park yet no signs or rules were posted anywhere about a weight or height limit. Yet whole adults were up there helping their toddlers. It felt very discriminating and it was just really sad. I am never going back here. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has a disability or who has "boisterous" children. Legit a pool rule against being boisterous. This place is a joke.

As others have said the staff is miserable. Hiring bad attitude teenagers too worried about any minor issue like children splashing. Years ago they only worried about kids drowning or busting their heads. Better off buying a pool, you won't get negative comments for doing pool activities.

Fun and lots to do. Kids 12 and 14 had lots of fun. Shower rooms are very mice and clean the whole place was clean and workers were very nice. Great place for all ages ..price is good and lots of parking. Used to have consession stand but guess that's closed. So mot sure if you can bring food in or not..

Great place for kids of all ages. It's an especially good deal to go 4-6 on weekdays. We brought a five year old, who can't swim on her own, but could still enjoy the yellow water slide on the double tube with a parent (though they don't allow water wings on the big slides). The three year old enjoyed the little slides and other water features.
