Based on customer reviews, experiences at Saginaw Escape appear to be varied. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the cleanliness and environment of the escape rooms, citing issues such as a strong odor of musk, mold, and mildew, as well as rooms being described as dirty with clutter and trash used as decorations, including perishable food items that had gone bad. This reviewer also found the puzzles to be illogical with numerous irrelevant items and disliked the use of handwritten notes. They further noted the poor condition of the bathroom.
In contrast, another customer who participated in the "werewolf room" had a positive experience, praising the game master as cool and nice. They mentioned that the exterior of the building appeared "sketchy and abandoned" upon arrival but found it to be part of the charm and indicated they would return.
It's important for potential visitors to consider these contrasting reviews when evaluating Saginaw Escape. While one customer highlighted significant concerns about the cleanliness, decor, and puzzle quality across multiple rooms, another enjoyed a specific room and the interaction with the staff. As a part of our Theme Park Directory, we aim to provide a platform for diverse experiences and encourage users to weigh all available feedback.

before i start this, this review has nothing to do with the employee, he did a good job & tried his best to lift our spirits & he was doing a good job/i felt bad for him for running the whole thing by himself. this was the worst escape room I've ever done in my life, it stinks of musk, mold, & mildew. the rooms are dirty, most of the decorations are clutter and trash (literally, like plastic silverware and straws, real perishable food items that have visibly gone bad, broken bits of things, torn apart books, etc). i have contamination anxiety which has only been triggered by 2 (dirty, not themed) escape rooms, this being one of them, i totally shut down from it and was unable to enjoy the game because it was clear things didn't just look dirty for the aesthetic, they were actually just nasty. and to top it off the puzzles were just bad and made no sense. I've done many escape rooms and worked at multiple escape rooms and majority of these puzzles didn't make any logical sense or connect whatsoever and there's a lot of red herrings and things that have nothing to do with your game, which always feels really bad when you're playing escape rooms, I'm used to a couple of red herrings in escape rooms even though I don't like them, but at this place half the things in the room are irrelevant. also my biggest pet peevea in escape rooms is when things are written on with sharpie or have written on paper taped to the walls and stuff, it just looks trashy to me. and don't even get me started on the bathroom, the toilet was caked in brown, part of the wall was missing? there was a broken(?) sink just sitting on the floor, dirty everywhere. update the next day, my group is all feeling sick edit to reply: i played multiple rooms, it is not the theme of the rooms that is the problem, it's the cleanliness of the room and the use of trash as decor. i know what a designed mess & dirt looks like and what a real mess & dirt looks like, if you want mold and mildew as your aesthetic tho you're straight on point. honestly more effort has been put into this reply than into the rooms. this amount & style of red herrings is not normal for an escape room, im not talking about unimportant posters or objects you thought might be a part of something, that's normal, im talking about unused codes and literal written instructions telling you to do something that leads nowhere. the state of the bathroom reflects the state of the rooms well. also no renovations causes a toilet to be brown and no "authentic" escape room decor should consist of trash and real perishable food 🤢

We did the werewolf room. The game master was really cool and nice. Was a little scared when we first pulled up because the building looked sketchy and abandoned, but that was part of its charm. Would come back.

Absolutely recommend! "Bad Moon Rising" review: Fun, challenging room! We were a group of 5 and almost beat it! All props worked, were clean, and the room really makes you work as a team. Lots of red herrings and twists and turns, and it was disclosed by the staff to expect this. We surprised our parents (who have never even heard of escape rooms) with this and only told them where we were going once they were in the car. They were unsure at first, but loved it are excited to go back! We want to do N-Virus next. Saginaw Escape review: Amazing staff. Streamlined, efficient, lovely experience with Mia, the general manager who explained the game and experience to us. No bad smell anywhere like some reviews a couple years ago mentioned. This is a typical escape room experience but with the added bonus of more individual character because it isn't a franchise/chain. Big plus. This venue also has a lot more than escape rooms! It's a concert hall, gellyball, and has a lot of history you can ask the staff about. It's so great this is here in this location, and is a great way to put your money towards helping Saginaw come back.

We had a good ol' scary time at the Bad Moon Rising cabin room. It was HARD! Challenging! Fun! We got very close to escaping, a team of 5 of us. Gruesome mannequins, tough clues, lots of cool memorabilia, gracious host Mia, and even though we were on a lower level it was a pleasant atmosphere, as pleasant as a scary cabin inhabited by a dead body and numerous gargoyles can be. It was truly a fun immersive experience.

We did a couple of these today, the rooms are well propped, in fact, the Killer's Promise room was one of the best set ups I've experienced. The workers were nice and could tell they put a lot of work into the escape room experience. Being non-corporate owned, you could tell they added a lot of extras you just don't see elsewhere. Highly recommend
