K1 Speed - Indoor Go Karts, Food, Games, and Things to Do In Salt Lake City Introduce

Welcome to K1 Speed - Indoor Go Karts, Food, Games, and Things to Do In Salt Lake City, located at 725 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84094, USA. As an amusement center listed in the Theme Park Directory, K1 Speed offers a combination of indoor go-kart racing, arcade games, and food services, making it a potential venue for various group activities and individual entertainment.

Environment: K1 Speed features a nice and reportedly very clean indoor go-kart track. In addition to the racing area, they have a section with game machines, all of which were reported as functional, and even massage chairs that worked well. There is also a food bar area.

Services: K1 Speed offers indoor go-kart racing with options for single races or potentially packages. They also have an arcade area with various game machines. Food is available on-site, though service can be slow, particularly for larger groups, possibly due to short staffing. One reviewer noted communication issues between the sales team and the staff running events. When significant issues arise, such as kart malfunctions leading to interrupted races and long wait times, management has been reported to offer refunds and apologies.

Features: The primary feature of K1 Speed is its indoor go-kart racing on a well-maintained track. Other features include a variety of functional arcade games and massage chairs. The availability of food on-site adds to the convenience. However, potential drawbacks include slow food service, potential communication gaps between staff, and the possibility of long wait times for races due to technical issues or organizational challenges.

Promotional Information: K1 Speed is presented as a "great spot for a company activity" and generally a place where customers can have a blast. The food is described as delicious once it arrives. The functionality of the game machines and massage chairs is also a positive aspect. However, potential local users should be aware of reported issues with slow food service, communication between staff, and significant wait times for races, sometimes exceeding three hours for just two people. While management is polite and responsive in resolving issues with refunds, this does not mitigate the lost time. Additionally, there have been reports of inconsistent staff availability at the food bar and for general inquiries. Local users in Sandy looking for indoor go-karting and arcade games in the Theme Park Directory should consider K1 Speed, but also be prepared for potential service delays and wait times based on recent customer experiences.

Based on customer reviews, K1 Speed in Sandy, UT, offers a fun experience with indoor go-kart racing on a clean track and functional arcade games. It's considered a good venue for company activities. However, potential customers should be aware of reported issues including slow food service, communication problems between staff, and potentially long wait times for races due to organizational issues and kart malfunctions. Great spot for a company activity! We had a blast. The one con was the food was a little slow coming out, they seemed short staffed for a group our size. When it did come out it was delicious! Communication between sales and those running the event wasn’t great. Highly recommend for the sales reps to remember their front line employees driving the actual event need to get information in a timely matter. Overall great event! Thanks!

Paid for 2 races and waited an hour to get in, got half a race before the kart died resulting in me getting drilled by other racers, the staff member advised they had a bad batch of battery’s and would let’s us jump into the very next race, (that never happened) the staff member kept pushing us back 6 different races because people were complaining of being skipped or waiting long also resulting in a 3 hour wait period for just us….2 people… the staff member did advised we were getting skipped on accident because of a few mess ups and would get us in on the next race that also didn’t happen and we got skipped again.. we brought this up the staff 3-4 times in between waiting before finally saying screw it and asked to speak to a manager, the manager did refund us and apologize and was very polite which made the situation better but didn’t fix the hours of waiting. The track was nice, very clean inside, food was great, the game machines all functional even the massage chairs worked nicely, it appears there’s a lack of management or communication as there was generally nobody at the food bar or anyone available to talk to for 10-15 minutes at a time.

We made a reservation for a company team building event for ten people. We opted for the “Adult Mini Grand Prix Package”. It includes a prequalifying race, a final race, awards ceremony, and food vouchers. We were told to order the food before the races so it would be ready for us when we were finished racing. The races were fun and everything went well. We ended up waiting almost an hour for our food after the races were done. They started bringing out food and would just leave it on the table without saying anything. No one told us that since some people ordered the same item, they put double portions on the plate and expected us to share. They seem very understaffed and overwhelmed by a group of 10. The “sliders” was meat on a bun cut into four. The nachos were amount of chips with toppings. The only decent thing was the pizza but it was definitely not a $20 pizza. We were getting ready to leave and no one had mentioned the award ceremony, so I inquired about it and they said “oh yeah“ and told us that they would give us the medals. They said that you have to ask for the medals. We also had a cart die on us in the final race because they said it wasn’t charged. In the end, the go karts are fun, but I would never use their food services again. They are incredibly overpriced and very basic. I originally wanted to bring in outside food, but was told during the reservation that they have a very large catering fee if you bring in outside food. I feel the food service was a joke. The staff were nice but overwhelmed.

Second time going here in the last three years or so. It's fun and all but crazy expensive (I ski so I know expensive). Track staff was awesome. I went to get a beer between races and they said I had to order food to get a beer, so I asked for some chips, the girl said I had to order food off the menu because it's the state law. That's not the law. Men's bathroom was pretty gross with loads of dried urine on the walls and dividers - you could tell those hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

If you’re looking for a fun and safe go-karting experience, I would strongly advise against this place. The karts feel more like high-speed bumper cars, and there seems to be little to no enforcement of safe driving rules. During my visit, I was completely clipped and spun out by another kart, only to be jolted by a hard hit from behind. The impact was intense, and it left me genuinely concerned about the lack of supervision from staff. Instead of addressing the reckless driving, they simply held up a sign saying “No Drifting” as if that was the only issue. There was no effort to stop aggressive drivers or ensure a safe environment for everyone on the track. If adults are allowed to drive recklessly with no consequences, it’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt. I will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values safety.
